Minkyu Kang is an award-winning director, screenwriter, and producer working between the United States and South Korea. His body of work spans short films, television commercials, documentaries, and art videos, many of which have been presented at more than 80 international film festivals worldwide.

His most recent short film, Children of Light, received the Grand Prize at the Directors Guild of America, along with the Focus Features Award for Social and Cultural Impact, in addition to the NBR Student Grant and the Norman Strauss Prize. It was also named a finalist for the 2023 BAFTA Student Awards and the 50th Annual Student Academy Awards.

Alongside his achievements in film, Kang has emerged as a prolific creative force in the K-pop industry, producing dozens of music videos that have shaped the visual identity of leading artists such as IU, Cortis, Riize, Enhypen, Seventeen, Onew (SHINee), and Hyoyeon (Girls’ Generation).
